Introduction To BaseLine Plate heat exchangers
The plate heat exchanger comprises a stack of corrugated metal plates with openings to allow the flow of two fluids between which heat transfer occurs. This stack of plates is positioned between a frame plate and a pressure plate, and compression is achieved by tightening bolts. The arrangement facilitates the exchange of heat between the two fluids without direct mixing, as they flow through the alternate channels formed by the corrugated plates. This design maximizes the surface area available for heat transfer and allows for efficient thermal exchange between the fluids.
